You may need to repeat this step or you may like to use a cotton tip to help remove any additional eye makeup in hard-to-reach areas. This also works for long-wearing and waterproof lipstick and lip products.

If you have been wearing a full face of heavy makeup it can be a good idea to use the double cleansing method – this involves using an oil-based makeup remover (like Bi-Facil) and then a water-based cleanser to cleanse the pores and skin.

Oil based makeup removers typically use a combination of oils which can help to break down the waxes and long-wearing ingredients often used in waterproof makeup. Water based makeup removers often have water as one of their key ingredients and give a refreshing cleanse to the skin – they may also take the form of a micellar water makeup remover.
