Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not dry out skin, not irritating to sensitive skin I haven't used a toner since high school, anyone remember Sea Breeze? The Lancome consultant used TD to gently clean my face before applying the foundation I was sampling. I loved it right away. It left my skin feeling refreshed. It did not irritate my sensitive skin and left my face feeling clean. It didn't leave a film on my skin and it didn't dry my face out. I have oily skin and this has been wonderful. I think it helps keep the oil production to a minimum so I'm not shiny all day. TD leaves a healthy brightness and I also think it is helping to minimize my large pores. I use it twice a day after cleasing and before moisturizer. Will purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my all-time favorite products. The Best! This product is one of the best, and is an all-time favorite of mine. Approximately 30 years ago, Lancome marketed Tonique Douceur in a spray bottle. Still a toner, it was also recommended as a comforting-re-hydrating-make-up-refreshing-spritz. This is the way it was recommended to me and how I began using it. When I began using it as a spritz/toner in my 20's, it was the first time my skin felt 'comfortable'. No matter what else I try, where I live, or the condition of my skin, I always come back to Tonique Douceur for a make-up-setting, afternoon-re-hydrating and refreshing feeling. I love it and will never be without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does a bang-up job for dry skin without denting the wallet too badly I started using Tonique Douceur almost 20 years ago when I read an article that suggested using a toner in place of soaps and cleansers, if your skin is very dry, which mine is. Tonique Douceur leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and supple. I use TD every night after removing my eye make-up with Bi-facil (I know, I should be working for Lancome, but I don't), before applying my night cream. With its light scent and its quick drying application, it not only saves my skin from feeling dry after cleansing, it shortens my over all skin routine by not requiring water. If you find that no matter how hydrating a cleanser purports to be (even Lancome's own cleansers are too drying for me), try using Tonique Douceur in place of your cleanser at night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best alcohol-free freshener I first tested this product on myself and my boyfriend at Sephora. We both have sensitive combination skin, and products that claim to control oil or "mattify" just end up making our face more oily afterwards. We were very pleasantly surprised by this freshener! It is cool and refreshing with a light flowery scent that gently combats excess oil on your face while replenishing moisture to soften your face! I highly recommend this product, especially for people like me who have sensitive combination skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You've tried the rest, but this is the best! I have used many different skincare lines before I switched to Lancôme. With my combination skin, I need a toner that is alcohol-free, so that my skin does not get stripped and create even more oil. This is a light, refreshing toner that doesn't dry out my skin. Even though it is more expensive initially to buy, you don't have to use a lot of the product for maximum effectiveness. I have already noticed a change in my overall skin appearance! I switched to Lancôme two years ago and will continue to be a loyal customer for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite all time skin product, EVER, with a wonderful fresh clean feel! I have used this product for over 30 years! I always buy the 13.5 oz bottle because I like to use it on my skin by filling up a small 3oz spray bottle and spritzing the toner on my skin after cleansing, and if I am home during the day to refresh my skin. I have VERY sensitive skin and this toner soothes, freshens and hydrates very well.. I packed a spray bottle of this and used during both my labor and deliveries many years ago! Lancome, PLEASE do not discontinue this toner, or you might find me with a picket sign out front of headquarters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle yet Excellent I have sensitive, combination skin and this product is perfect. It doesn't dry your skin, yet it leaves it feeling really fresh and clean. No sting and burn as with some alcohol laden products! Also, the bottle lasts a long time because you don't have to use a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchase Ever This product was recommended to me over 20 years ago at a Lancome counter by the Lancome specialist. I had dry patches on either side of my nose from past sun burn. It healed up those areas, and I've never been without it since. It is a terrific hydrating product for face, neck and lips! The rose botanicals (that smell wonderful by the way) must have healing properties in them. I try not to be without it - ever. Love it, and Highly recommend it.

What is the difference between Tonique Douceur and Tonique Radiance?

The benefits of each product seem relatively similar, yet there is a significant price difference. What are the main differences between these two products?
Asked by: Anonymous
Radiance is an exfoliating toner. It has alcohol in it and can irritate sensitive skin, but works well otherwise. It has a mild, fresh scent. Douceur is alcohol free. But it is loaded with artificial coloring and heavy perfume smells.

Can this be sure to remove eye makeup?

The directions say it can be applied to the face but does not say anything about the eyelids/eye area. Is this safe to use to remove eye shadow?
Asked by: Sarah
Only use Bi-Facil around your eye area. A little goes a long way and it feels wonderful while doing it's job, removing all eye make-up.

Dear Lancôme, when I purchased this product, the salesperson said I could use this around my eye area as it is alcohol free. Is this correct?

Asked by: JapaneseSkincareEnthusias
Some of the tonics are alcohol free however I personally would not use this at the eye area. Lancôme has wonderful products designed for just the eye alone. I'd stick with those.

Did Lancome change this formula???

I just bought a bottle today and noticed that the bottle was different in wording. So, I went home and compared the ingredient list with my older one. Rosewater is now listed way down on the list and it used to be high on the list. Oh no... I hope this hasn't changed. It was perfect before.

I love this toner. Lancôme now sells the Rosewater - Eau Fraîche Douceur - separately which I love. I can mix the toner with the rosewater - Eau Fraîche Douceur - or use the Rosewater -Eau Fraîche Douceur - by itself. Either way the toner is excellent.

What skin type is this best for?

I have slightly oily on my tzone and dry on my cheeks during the winter, and mostly oily on my tzones and slightly dry cheeks in the summer. Would this toner work for my skin type?
Asked by: Lancome87
Yes, it's clarifying but non-astringent. I like the Eau Micellaire Douceur (French name), called Eau Fraiche Douceur here. It's cleansing, you can use it without soap at night, and toning. Good for all types of skin.

Manufacturer

Is Tonique Douceur (13.5) made in France or somewhere else? Thanks
Asked by: Galyusha
Lancome has manufacturing facilities in France and the United States. Skin care products sold in the US are likely made here, too. Make-up, I don't know. It's probably made in France.

What skin type is this best for?

Revision: I believe I have drier skin in the winter and oily skin on my tzones and slightly drier on the cheeks during the summer. Would this toner still work for me? What would I be considered as in a skintype?
Asked by: Lancome87
I also have this issue. I have been using this for a few weeks and it has helped to keep the oil production to a minimum and also doesn't irritate the dry patches I had. I have psoriosis on my forehead and this doen't aggravate it at all. I would definitely try this. I have also been using Visionare before bed and this really has made a difference in how my skin looks, feels, and acts. I'm very happy with it.
