Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the color I consistently buy the black lapis (a fantastic dark blue) and the moss. I find the black lapis glides on much smoother and softer than the moss. I don’t know why. Because of this the black lapis seems to get used up much quicker than the moss. I absolutely love both colors and will be trying the purple next.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s ok. I received this eyeliner as a gift. I liked the color and how smoothly it went on. What I did not like is that within only a few hours the color transfers from my eye line to the crease of my eye lid. I use an eye shadow primer. I tried applying the eyeliner over my eye shadow and under it. Didn’t make a difference. I’ve also tried ‘setting’ the eyeliner by applying my loose powder over my eyes (before applying mascara). That didn’t help either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My all-time favorite eye pencil! I have used Le Crayon Kohl eye pencils for decades. Through the years, I have tried a number of other brands of eye pencils, but I always return to Le Crayon Kohl eye pencils because they glide on easily (some pencils are super hard and/or require painful pressure to build any visible color), they sharpen easily (with a Lancome sharpener), they last a long time, they do not change color and/or develop a cloudy coating (with age), they do not break off, and — for me, at least — they do not smudge (unless I want them to smudge, in which case I can drag the tip of my ring finger across the color a few times and it will smudge perfectly). With regard to all of the conflicting reviews regarding smudging (some reviews state that the color lasts all day, while other reviews state that the color smudges almost immediately), the only thing that I can figure is that the difference is due to variations in individual skin types. Personally, I can line my upper lids in the morning and, at the end of the day, the lines will still be perfectly intact. My favorite color for routine use is “Gris Noir,” which I use to line my upper lids AND fill in my brows. (It works great as a brow pencil. I use it in conjunction with “Les Sourcils Definis” in “Noir”). For those days when I want to line my upper lids with a more fun color, my absolute favorite is “Purple Dusk,” with “Black Lapis” (a gorgeous dark blue) coming in as a close second. I have not yet tried “Moss,” but it looks like a beautiful color that I plan to try at some point in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The WORST Rubbed off completely within two hours. I bought this on trust because I like and use some of their other products but it smudges terribly and has no staying power. I bought the purple crayon and got a brown one as a sample - both wore off in no time. sorry i spent my money without trying it. ugh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite eyeliner! I have tried many eyeliners and I always buy this one. This is a versatile eyeliner that can be used to make a cat eye, Smokey eye, or used on my waterline. It has never failed me and is my go to eyeliner for special occasions and for my everyday look. Love it!

Is it for inside the eyes?

I have bought one from the Dubai Duty Free but when I used inside the eyes I fell not to see good and I see blurry!!!!!!!!!!
Asked by: Shima
No. Eyeliners should not be used inside the eye. I don't know of any that are made for that purpose, when they are used inside the eye they are being used incorrectly.

I love using the black lapis pencil, but it smudges quite a bit is there anyway to stop it from smudging so much.

My race is black and I have only skin.
Asked by: Boldy
Kohl eyeliners are supposed to smudge normally as they were made for the "Smoky Eye" look. That being said, I too love this eyeliner and use it despite not doing the "Smoky Eye". To me it goes on smoother and easier. So here are some things I have tried and they all work well, but I prefer he second and third ones. You can use a little black eyeshadow and go over the area , I have heard this helps. You can also set the powder by using your flat precision eyeshadow brush and dip it in your foundation powder and run that along the bottom edges. Touching a little but don't overlap. I know that one way I keep my liner from running (along with the foundation powder trick) I always use an eye primer. It helps set the canvas and minimizes the oil on my eyelids. I use the La Base Pro face primer on my face and eyes, it's oil free so it doesn't add to my oily skin and I don't see much shine for at least six hours. Hope this helps!

Is this product oil-free? What are the ingredients?

Per the ingredients link on the product page. "Ingredients C10-18 TRIGLYCERIDES, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, TALC, ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, STEARALKONIUM HECTORITE, SILICA, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, TOCOPHEROL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, [+/- MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR, CI 75470 / CARMINE, CI 77000 / ALUMINUM POWDER, CI 77007 / ULTRAMARINES, CI 77163 / BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES, CI 77510 / FERRIC FERROCYANIDE, CI 77742 / MANGANESE VIOLET, CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE, MICA]" Triglycerides are "an ester formed from glycerol and three fatty acid groups. Triglycerides are the main constituents of natural fats and oils, and high concentrations in the blood indicate an elevated risk of stroke." per a Google search Talc is a mineral with an oily feel to it. Isopropyl Myristate is a synthetic oil used as an emollient, thickening agent, or lubricant in beauty products. per WWW.WiseGeek.Org So I will have to go with yes, there are oils in this eyeliner. Upon further research it seems that most eye products including some mineral makeup has Isopropyl Myristate in them. You can Google the ingredient and come up with a definition and a partial lisiting of what the ingredient is used for/in.
