Rated 2 out of 5 by from just okay So here's the deal ladies. I am a broadcast journalist, and for years, Lancome had the best powder ever. Because I work in front of the camera, I have tried everything from Chanel to Estee Lauder to the cheaper brands. I could never find anything that came even close to Photogenic translucent powder. It was amazing. Then the company discontinued it. I tried other Lancome powders, including this one. I hoped they just renamed the product, and the formulation was the same. Since the "translucent" color is not offered, I went with 150 Ivoire. It's okay, but tends to collect on oily spots. Photogenic NEVER did that. I could powder 15 times during the broadcast day, and it always looked great. This product is only average in comparison.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! This powder truly does have a lighter than air feel. When applying it to my skin, it blends immediately and seems flawless against the skin, no chalky appearance that seems to just sit on your face making you look "dusty." This powder looks amazing alone because it minimizes pores and makes your skin beautifully matte. It also looks great over any foundation and sets it so it lasts for hours. The packaging is cute and lightweight (not too heavy or bulky). I carry it in my wristlet for touch ups on nights or weekends out. The price is a little up there, but the product will last for a long time so you get your moneys worth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product is light weight enough for combination / oily skin types but the formula is not suitable.. Translucence powder is no comparison to the Matte Finish that Lancome had in its line up. This new powder is supposed to maintain a matte finish and be good for oilier skin types. It is not. It has "moist" powders added to the powder for a creamier texture. The silkiness of the powder adds too much of a sheen effect. After the powder is on for a while, the skin's own oils naturally come through and the powder ends up looking pasty. Totally disappointed with this new powder. Lancome seems to be veering away from helping anyone with skin types that are oilier and/or combination oily. Took away the Pure Focus. Took away the Matte Finish. Took away the foundations of long ago that were excellent. New is not always better. Bring back the formulas that truly worked. Hopefully, the Renergie lotion will not be taken away. The Aqua Vital lotion still isn't light-weight enough for oiler skins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST Powder for Oily Skin! I have been waiting forever for Lancome to come out with a sheer pressed oil-control powder...and finally my wish has been granted! This pressed powder is very finely milled and sheer, but does provide a silky matte airbrushed finish. NEVER gets cakey, even with the included sponge and multiple touchups throughout the day! I love the compact, very classy and practical, none of that split pan or swivel nonsense! I use this on it's own, or over my Lancome Teint Miracle. I am a very fair, and 100 Ivoire is a perfect match. Will definitely repurchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overwhelming Fragrance Causes Breakouts I agree with another reviewer, please Lancome, bring back FRAGRANCE FREE powders. Those of us that are sensitive (skin and sinus) really can't use perfume laden skincare and make up products. The Lancome powders and foundations are the best in the industry, sans all of them have fragrance and oils that irritate us sensitive gals. Lancome use to make fragrance free and oil free products - I used them and they were excellent! Apparently they must not have been good sellers, so Lancome discontinued. Parabans, fragrance, and too much oils - and yet Lancome continues to sell these only. Whenever I use products with fragrance, my nice clear complexion breaks out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice and pretty So I love Dual finish however It makes me very oily in my T Zone about 3 hours puttig it on. I like to use powder over my foundation. I purchased this powder instead of dual finish and I am really really happy with it. It makes my face look soft and fresh :) I dont get oily in my t zone either and its a good powder to touch up :). Its a lot lighter then dual finish and probably not sitable for very dry skin. I wish Lancome would make a dual finish "oil-free" because I do like the coverage of dual finish and how it can be worn over or with out foundation. I might consider using this powder to touch up over the dual finish when my t zone becomes oily on the nights I want full full coverage..but for now I like this powder :) I love lancome makeup! use a powder brush to put it on L(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft, sexy & nice I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this powder. I am used to using Dual Finish, but wanted a change. I like this powder because it's light, provides me with the coverage needed, great value, quality, solid packaging. Long lasting throughout the day. I have combo skin and it's 49 years old and all I want is to take off the shine and give me a bit of coverage...this powder does its will not be disappointed. Makes your own skin shine through. If you have good skin, why not show it off instead of hiding it?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is the first foundation I re-purchase every time So I have never found a foundation that I liked enough to buy again once it ran out. Until this one. I have mildly oily skin, and this makeup does a great job of reducing shine. It covers great applied just as a powder, and even better for those special occasions when I apply it with water. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because if I have dry skin at all, (like around my nose after a cold) it definitely looks a bit chalky. Other than that, I definitely found a makeup I will stick with.

Match for Buff 4C foundation?

I currently use buff 4C in Photogenic Lumessence and love it - color wise it's a perfect match .. I'm about to finish the power I was using (different brand but it was still new/matched the foundation well so I wanted to use it rather than waste it). I have lost where I wrote down the suggested color in this powder the lady at the Macys counter gave me so I could order it when I was ready and it'll be a long time before I can get back to my nearest store to have them look it up. I'm guess it's either the 200 or 250 buff? Help?!
Asked by: KWTexas
I purchased the 200 buff and was VERY happy with it. I also use buff 4C in Photogenic Lumessence. The 200 buff powder blends in perfectly, so I don't look like I have a powdery mask on or a weird color. I apply it using the highlighter brush and follow the stippling technique in the video on the Translucence page. The powder goes on invisibly and feels light ... and it still lasts all day!

What color will be the best match in this powder if I use Teint Idole ultra 24hrs in 250 bisque (W)?

Asked by: Iris
I'd say go with the 300 Bisque. The tones of Translucence will be in the same family as your foundation. I'd rather go a little lighter with the powder than accidentally get something too dark. You're using it to set your makeup, not build color. I use a highlighter brush to apply my Translucence, and it never looks or feels heavy. The best thing to remember is that if you're ever really unhappy with a shade of makeup that you buy from Lancôme, you can take it back to your nearest counter and exchange it.

What is the difference between dual finish and translucence powder?

Asked by: Majita
Hey!! Translucence is for avoid that oiled look in your face when you pass the foundation. The Dual Finish can be used by itself, without foundation, because has its own color and can hide imperfections in your face (of course that use it with the foundation make a way more nice look BUT if you didn't have your foundation at hand, you could use it as a emergency measure).

Please indicate which shades are W, N, and C

This would clear up A LOT of confusion and allow us (the consumers) to decide how to match powder to foundation or tinted moisturizer... Frankly, a site-wide master list to coordinate shades would be super helpful and increase the value of online purchase via
Asked by: Shimonova
We apologies for the confusion. W, N and C are the short of warm, neutral and cold. We are working on a providing our valued customers an easier way to shade match. In the mean while, please take advantage of our live chat service or call our customer care center 1-800-526-2663.

Is Ivoire 150 lighter than Buff 200? It doesn't look lighter.

Asked by: Sadie
Yes 150 is cooler and lighter than 200. 200 is light but has a lot of yellow. It was too dark/yellow for me. Ivory 150 worked best for my skin color.
