Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique Pencil I have been buying these pencils for years because my brows are sparse and my skin is oily there so the powdered texture suits me, but I must agree with one of the other reviewers that the CONSTANT breaking when sharpening them is VERY frustrating and too expensive for me. You need a sharp pencil to create a true looking brow. I have two of the Lancome sharpeners. I sharpen VERY carefully and pray that it doesn't break. I must agree that 50% of the pencil is lost due to this flaw in the pencil. I wish Lancome could correct this problem. I do enjoy the many choices in colors. I use both the mahogany and the brunet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem with this pencil I really like this pencil for brows. It is the only one I use, ever. The color, Mahogany, is perfect. Here is the problem: lately the pencil point breaks and will not sharpen. It just keeps breaking. I tried using a new brow pencil sharpener but it still breaks. It seems there is some sort of plastic that covers the inside of the pencil that prevents the pencil from being sharpened. Is it just that the pencil was "Old" when I bought it? This is a new pencil and the first time I tried to sharpen it. Previously I had no problem but this is a new pencil and soon it will be a nub. Why is this happening? Brows need immediate attention!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the look, hate the waste I have fairly thin eyebrows and have to fill them in every day as part of my makeup routine. I love how natural this pencil looks and feels. The colors are also really beautiful. The downside is that it does rub off quite easily. My other frustration with this pricy eyebrow pencil is how often the tip falls out when I sharpen it! 1 out of 3 times that I sharpen it I lose at least 1/4" of the pencil! It's too expensive for this much waste and if you need a special sharpener Lancome should provide it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brows Frame with this awesome crayon poudre I have never done much with eyebrows because I did not know how to control the end result. I look around and see ridiculous attempts to tweeze or remove and replace altogether. This pencil is my first attempt at making brows part of my makeup routine and it has done more than I could have asked. The softness of the pencil allows for gentle color application where I want it. It builds nicely and the brush evens it all out. It allows me to match the brows with ease both in shape and color. The videos on the product were a great assist in giving me confidance in using this fantastic finishing touch tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for sparse brows! I have never had to pluck my brows due to the fact that I do not any to spare. Now that I am older and the brows have gotten fewer I needed to find something to fill in what isn't there. I can't tell you how many products I have tried even one from Lancôme which I didn't like but kept anyway. This product is the best. There are many color choices for you to choose from and since I need a lighter shade to fill in what isn't there, it looks very natural. I am so happy I have found one I like. Now I have to hope they do not discontinue like they have 2 other products that I have used for quite sometime and trying to find replacements. I won't stray from Lancôme because I know the quality is there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well but pricey and wasteful I used a friend's Le Crayon and liked it a lot. I bought one despite the high price, but given its length I thought it was worth it, until I sharpened it. The crayon broke, the surrounding wood(?) slivered and broke too....aagghh!! Now I have a preciously short crayon. For the price Lancome ought to be able to solve this commonly experienced problem. Otherwise it's a very good product. I recommend with warning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HG Brow Pencil I buy this in Taupe and I can use this color regardless of any changes I make to my hair-color. It's really universal, depending on the amount of pressure used to apply, I can always get the perfect shade. Although the price may seem a bit high for a brow pencil, the product lasts, so if you divide it on a per use basis, it's really not much more than a drugstore purchase. I love the quality, and I never have any issues with it rubbing off (I set it with powder too). I have tried powders, gels, just about everything for brows, but ever since the first time I used this I have stopped looking for another brow product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a good value I finally found a brow pencil that I liked however you can't sharpen, it crumbles. I won't purchase it again because of the obvious defect for many customers have complained. Let me know when you fix it and I may consider another purchase. For now I have a pencil I can't use and for a pencil, it's not exactly inexpensive. How hard can it be to fix when you have so many of the same complaint.

what color do you suggest for gray hair?

My hair is 30% gray and I use Le Crayon Poudre in taupe. Looks pretty natural, not too orange or too dark.

Which color to get?

My hair is very dark, what eyebrow pencil should I get? What color?
Asked by: elix
I would recommend a shade lighter than your hair color. If you are not sure, consult an expert at a Lancôme counter and they can aid you in trying shades. Typically you shoot for one shade lighter than your hair to highlight your brows and fill in hair gaps. The lighter shade allows for a non-overpowering feel.

What color to purchase if your brows are black with white brows coming in?

I am 65 now and my eyebrows have been over plucked over the years. Although my head hair color is a lovely shade of brown with more gold then red highlights (very natural looking), my eyebrows are still quite black with white brows coming in and attempting to take over. I do use my hair color on my brows, but that does not last long. Any brown brow pencil, no matter how dark, still looks brown, not black. My skin is quite fair. What color Le Crayon Poudre would you recommend for me?
Asked by: Judie
A color close to your hair color is best. If there is a gold or brown you want to accent from the hair color, I would go with that, whatever is within a "blend in" range. This crayon poudre is so soft in application, the old eye pencil starkness is not a problem. I particularly like the brush on the other end for softening the color throughout the brow. Watch the video tutorials on the Lancome site and you will see it in action. I love this product. Finding the right color is important and it might even be worth a trip to the store to see the different colors on your own eyebrows before ordering if you are very unsure.

I too would like to know if you have a sharpener for your eyebrow pencil. I have one but have not sharpened it yet and now I am afraid to.

Eyebrow pencil sharpener. I too have one of your eyebrow pencils and I really like it but with all the comments about not having a sharpener, I hesitate to buy another one. Please advise. Thank you. Ellen Mondale

The LE CRAYON POUDRE is a great product that must be sharpened ONLY with the LANCOME PENCIL SHARPENER. The Lancome pencil sharpener is especially designed for all Lancome pencil products that need sharpening. Any other brand pencil sharpener with cause the pencil point to break while sharpening. So, there is no need to be afraid of sharpening it, just make sure that you buy a Lancome Pencil Sharpener for a few bucks.

Do you make a sharpener for your brow pencil?

Asked by: arlenelee
Lancome does make a sharpener and the pencil can only be sharpened successfully with that sharpener. They should offer that info with the product. This is my favorite eyebrow pencil - been using for 10 years - and it lasts a long time with the right sharpener.
