Rated 5 out of 5 by Yanni2347 Does a bang-up job for dry skin without denting the wallet too badly
I started using Tonique Douceur almost 20 years ago when I read an article that suggested using a toner in place of soaps and cleansers, if your skin is very dry, which mine is. Tonique Douceur leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and supple. I use TD every night after removing my eye make-up with Bi-facil (I know, I should be working for Lancome, but I don't), before applying my night cream. With its light scent and its quick drying application, it not only saves my skin from feeling dry after cleansing, it shortens my over all skin routine by not requiring water. If you find that no matter how hydrating a cleanser purports to be (even Lancome's own cleansers are too drying for me), try using Tonique Douceur in place of your cleanser at night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OTChic Tonique Douceur is uplifting!
Tonique Douceur has been a staple in my morning and evening face regime for nearly 10 years. It is refreshing after cleansing and gives my face on uplifting feeling before adding my lotion. It is especially comforting in the summer months as a breath of relief after a long walk or working in the garden. The scent is soothing and, I especially appreciate that it is alcohol free. I couldn't live without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SweetieK Gentle yet Excellent
I have sensitive, combination skin and this product is perfect. It doesn't dry your skin, yet it leaves it feeling really fresh and clean. No sting and burn as with some alcohol laden products! Also, the bottle lasts a long time because you don't have to use a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WilsonPossum Refreshing Toner
I use this periodically to refresh my face (while not wearing makeup). It smells delightful and really makes your skin feel great. If you do not like the alcohol-sting of most toners, this one is a definite must have!

Tonique Douceur is a gentle, alcohol free toner for anyone with normal or combination skin. It will help to balance the complexion. After washing your face, apply a small amount of Tonique Douceur to a cotton ball and swipe across your entire face avoiding the eye area. Top with your favorite Lancome serum-either Genifique (for a radiant, youthful glow) or Visionnaire (for smoother, pore free skin), and then top with your Lancome moisturizer and you're good to go!Gender: Female

Answer:
Tonique Douceur is for persons with normal to dry skin who don't like leaving any traces of makeup behind after cleansing the face. And who don't want the drying effects of alcohol - this product is Ph balanced and has no alcohol in it.I use it after cleaning my face even when all I've had on all day was sunscreen and tinted moisturizer. I've used it after working out and after my shower - just to reset my skin's PH and to make my facial skin feel supple and not taunt from whatever soap was in the shower.
You use it after cleaning the face and before applying any skin treatments. Using a cotton ball over the top of the open bottle, tilt the bottle to moisten but not saturate the cotton ball. Set the bottle down, and wipe the cotton ball across the forehead to cover the entire area , then down the nose, across each cheek (make sure to wipe all the way to the hairline surrounding the face-makeup can hide in plain view there after cleansing) , around the lips and down the rest of the sides of the face to under the entire jawline.
Short version: wipe your entire face with the cotton ball w/ the T. Douceur on it , skipping the immediate eye area like lids and the tender skin underneath the eye, and plan to be a little stunned when you see the dirt on the cotton ball from what this product can and will pick up off your skin most times.
This product is an excellent toner. It leaves the skin supple without feeling stripped, and removes anything on the skin left by cleansers, as well as conditions the skin to be receptive to the next step in anyone's skin care routine.
Tonique Douceur is a modern classic. One of my parents has used it for decades. I use it., and we both have excellent skin. Good genetics? More like good skin care and staying out of the sun. Tonique Douceur is a core product to my skin care for a long time- and a little goes a long way. I use a prescription retinoid and this toner product of Lancome's has never, ever irritated my sensitive skin or interfered with the retinoid's job of reducing lines and other benefits.
Tonique Douceur has a fresh scent - pretty light - not a sporty scent nor a neutral scent. I like the scent and hardly notice it.

Can this toner work with any moisturizers??

Answer:
Any moisterizer can be used with any toner. The key is to use the moisterizer that is for your skin type. Most toners just prep the skin before moisterization. I would focus more on the type of moisterizer you use before worrying about what toner to use.Gender: Female

Revision: I believe I have drier skin in the winter and oily skin on my tzones and slightly drier on the cheeks during the summer. Would this toner still work for me? What would I be considered as in a skintype?

Answer:
Tonique Douceur is formulated for all skin types. I would recommend the Tonique Confort, which is formulated for dry skin, to use in the colder months when your skin is at it's driest. It's always best to use products specifically formulated for your skin type instead of using products that are formulated for all skin types. Switch the products you use according to how your skin is that particular day.Gender: Female
