The liquid is extremely soft on hands and the face. It spreads very well, and the skin does feel smooth when the base is applied. Smooth like you're rubbing against paper, that is.
Every person's skin is different, and this product didn't really make my makeup (foundation/powder) to be any more vibrant or smoother. My makeup seem to look better without the base.

I am a nurse and sweat a lot when I'm at work. I like to wear a lot of makeup too. There is usually very little left of my foundation and blush at the end of my shift. But since using La Base Pro that has all changed. I first use my moisturizer and let it absorb well. Then I apply La Base Pro all over my face, even over my eyes and down my neck. It has a very smooth, matt finish that creates a nice canvas. I use two pumps and that is plenty. Then I put on my makeup as I always do. My face looks almost the same at the end of the day as at the beginning. I was very impressed! My 19 year old daughter is in love with it too. She doesn't even need foundation when she uses it. It is like a clear, liquid powder. Sure wish it was cheaper...

I have super oily skin and have to blot my face about four times a day. I have tried almost everything that claims to control oil and have been disappointed each time. Today is my second day using the primer and I have to say that I am absolutely pleased!!!! I used it about 2 days ago when I went to a concert and out to have a few drinks afterwards and did not have to blot my face once. I danced all night to and my skin got a little damp and my makeup still looked fresh. Today I have been at work for about 6 hours and my face still looks fresh. I have to admit that my face has a little shine but it does not look super oily and gross like before. I never write reviews on products but I had to for this one. Thanks Lancome...just don't discountinue this product like others that I have relied on.

This is the best primer I have ever tried. It makes my skin so soft and smooth. My foundation goes on smoothly and looks flawless all day. It helps to control shine and makes my pores look smaller. I have dry skin and this product feels wonderful and doesn't dry me out at all. You need about half a pump for your entire face, so the bottle lasts forever. Great value. I recommend this product to everyone!

I bought La Base before my wedding on the recommendation of a fashion website. What a difference it made in how my makeup lasted for the rehearsal and the wedding day. Recently I knew I was going to be out all day and attending a party that night without time to reapply foundation. This made my morning makeup application last flawlessly. Be certain to put on your moisturizer first to plump up your fine lines a bit and then La Base makes you look years younger by not letting your foundation settle in fine lines.
