received compliments the moment i tried it, (i had purchased the gift set. my own personal taste did not care for the lotion or shower gel - BUT GREAT GIFTS FOR OTHERS). my mother had a specific request for lancome parfum this christmas, with no particular item requested. so, i will pass on reviews when she opens it. i did not find her tiffany's flattering in any way.
i am especially hard to impress, but genifique changed my mind the first time i tried it. i intend to pursue lancome's skin care next. i don't know how to thank them for the sample!!!
also impressed with 'color design designer bloom sheen' lipstick!!!

I love perfume, but I always have to be careful when trying new ones because so many give me headaches. You might even call me a fragrance snob. I was very hesitant to try La vie est belle because of the gourmand notes - sweet fragrances do not usually work for me. I read many great things about this scent - and both of my favorite perfumes, Hypnose and Tresor, are made by Lancome - so I decided to try it on in a store one day.
This is a warm, creamy, delicious, long-lasting scent. Exquisitely feminine and unique. The complexity of it reminds me of Hypnose, my all-time favorite, but its scent is unlike any perfume I've worn before. It is sweet, but it is also elegant. I can imagine myself wearing this ladylike perfume for years to come. Iris, patchouli, vanilla, and praline are some of the notes I can pick out easily.
I keep applying more of it just so I can enjoy the fragrance! It really is beautiful.

I do not buy alot of perfume or fragrance. I was almost out of my last bottle of cheap stuff and saw the commercial for this. I had a coupon at Ulta, so I went and bought a bottle. I got 2 compliments within an hour of being at work. "What is that really good smell?" , "It smells so good in here." I was so pleased to tell them it was my new fragrance. I will definately recommend it to my friends!

I love this fragrence, I recived a sample bottle when i bought some makeup at the lancome counter about a week ago, and sadly the sample is now gone:(
I will be going to buy a bottle very soon! love the smell and that it lasts FOREVER!
Just wish it wasnt so pricy

This is the very first scent that I have ever purchased without trying it first. It was a leap of faith worth taking and I love this perfume.
I truly enjoy perfume and have tried many different perfumes from many different categories and have found it very hard to settle on one that I really adore. I used to have a signature fragrance which I grew out of and I have been searching for a replacement for years now. La Vie Est Belle stands out as the most outstanding perfume I have tried, my favorite all time scent. This is the very first scent I have felt compelled to write a review about.
It is a deep scent with many layers, so unique if you are one who notices the beautiful details in life. I have never smelled a perfume that subtly changed so much over the hours of wearing it. It has many different facets between hints of flowers, hints of fruit, hints of patchouli with the base being vanilla which continues throughout. The sweetness of praline and tonka bean just assist the vanilla scent but do not overpower the fragrance because the other notes balance the sweet base. Vanilla is definitely the main contributor to this scent. Yet it is not a sickeningly sweet scent- the vanilla that continues throughout is gentle and soft and the other notes ease the sweetness, making it very well balanced. It is not too sweet and the gourmand qualities are far from overpowering. This is the most delicate use of gourmand- made to increase the warmth of the scent, but not to overpower it.
This scent blends with your skin to make it unique to you and does not simply sit on the surface. Yet this scent has staying power and it's wonderful to smell the multidimensional changes of the various notes over the hours. I cannot ever picture getting bored with this scent. It is complex and has such a unique composition of notes which are subtly detectable through the hours of wearing it, making this perfume completely different from any other perfume I've ever worn. If you are someone who notices the small but beautiful things in life, you will be able to detect the unique and subtle changes in the scent over the 10+ hours of wear you will get out of this perfume.
I feel like a woman with a beautiful warm sensual scent to complement my radiant smile when wearing this perfume... and yes this scent does make me smile. I have never had a perfume that actually brought a smile to my face before, but this one does. I feel free, happy and beautiful when wearing it, enhancing my love for life. Indeed the saying "Life Is Beautiful" really does describe this fragrance. The bottle too. All of the marketing is completely on track with what is in the bottle. Beautiful overall, truly beautiful.
Thanks to Lancome and the three master perfumers who have highlighted the beauty of each of the special notes in this perfume and reminded us of the gift of scent. What a stunning reminder of the beauty of the small things in life- those things which really make life even more beautiful. La vie est belle!!
