1949: A right royal collection of lip colors

From Versailles to Chambord and even Fontainebleau… If Armand Petitjean was known to look to far-flung travels for fragrant inspiration, when it came to designing lip colors, it was none other than France with its beautifully majestic châteaux that brought him the most inspiration between 1949 and 1958.

The result? Three resplendently regal lipsticks, each as elegant and refined as the castles from which they borrow their names. And what better way to let French design and beauty know-how shine on?

Versailles (1949), Chambord (1957), Fontainebleau (1958), Lancôme.
