From fresh-faced to glam, day into night, learn how to create the looks you love with ease and expertise.
|
Face: Banish dark shadows
Apply Photôgenic Concealer with brush #8 to the areas of the face which need perfecting. These areas are often inner eye closest to the nose, nostrils, cheeks and chin. Corrector concealer is usually needed for the areas showing the most "blue" undertone through the skin. This two step application is the most affective approach to the darkest shadows in the eye area.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Face: Coverage just where you need it
To create a radiant, natural finish, place Rénergie Lift Makeup on the back of your hand. Then use Foundation Brush #2 and apply only to areas of the face that need coverage, rather than all over your face. This will give a natural, youthful finish.
-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Face: Instant skin brightening
To lighten and brighten the skin, apply Absolue Golden or Absolue Pêche underneath the eyes, at the center of the nose and on the outer corners of the mouth. Either apply over foundation using Highlighting Brush #3 or mix the powder with your foundation for a polished finish.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Face: A light touch to set foundation
For the lightest approach to applying pressed powder, dip #1 Powder Brush into the palm of the hand until all traces of powder are invisible. Then tap the brush on a flat surface to deposit any remaining powder into its bristles. This technique enables you to use a minimal amount of product more effectively with little fallout. Pat the brush into the skin in the areas where foundation was applied to set it perfectly.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Face: Alex's Favorite Tip
Eye makeup is the most transformational. I call it the "butterfly effect". . . playing up the architecture of the eye by mixing matte and holographic eye shadow textures to sculpt the eyelid with a sheer, colorful and modern approach. Complete with a sexy fringe of our legendary Définicils Mascara.
|
Face: Tarek's Favorite Tip
Concealer is a magic product—yet the most misused product in the eye area. To master it, lightly blend product close to the bottom lash line, using Camouflage Brush #8, to help minimize redness and blueness. Follow by applying concealer directly on any dark areas only.
Blend and voila—the magic: flaws and dark shadows disappear.
|
Face: Mature eye lift
To instantly lift a mature eye, brighten eye color and correct imperfections, use the tip of Concealer Brush #8 and Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, starting at the inner corner of the eye. Redness is eliminated and you get all-day wear.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.
|
Face: For full coverage without a dry-skin look
Absolue Makeup is great for women with dry skin. It gives a truly polished look! For best results, apply Absolue Makeup with Foundation Brush #2 and press and release into the skin for complete coverage and hydration.
-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Face: Make cream blush last longer
Make cream blush last longer by setting it wth Color Ideal Pressed Powder or for richer cheek color, add a similar shade of Blush Subtil over it.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Face: Naturally rosy
To achieve rosy cheeks, I like to mix Blush Subtil in Aplum with the appropriate shade of Aqua Fusion Tinted Moisturzer and apply with Foundation Brush #2 to the apples of the cheeks.

Face: Manuel's Favorite Tip
Playing with makeup is the best way to get it right. With practice, and the right products and techniques, you’ll develop the kind of quick-change talent and precision that will make you your own best artist.
|
Face: Robert's Favorite Tip
Women always ask, “What colors are best for me?” My advice is: Choose colors you like, colors that make you feel good, colors you know look good on you. Once you have your “comfort zone colors,” try adding a pop of a new color for a modern edge.
|
Face: Add all-over face shimmer
Blush Subtil Shimmer allows you to buff and add sheen to the skin with little circular movements. I have two words for this look -- fresh faced!
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Face: Perfect lip contour and all-over brightening
Use a concealer, like Flash Retouche, to clean up around the lip area after applying lipstick, in the inner corners of the eye area to brighten eyes, and on the bridge of the nose and underneath to cut out shadows.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.
|
Face: To even out skin tone
You don't need a lot of Imanance if you use Foundation Brush #2 and apply only in theT-Zone, then blend outward.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Face: Multi-function powder
Always use loose powder as a base for your lipstick -- it helps the color last. Pro tip: dust loose powder under your eyes before applying Color Design Eye Shadow. This keeps any eye shadow that drops onto your face from adhering. Photôgenic powder is so fine that you can just whisk loose eye shadow away.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.
|
Face: Darais' Favorite Tip
Spend most of your time on your skin. Perfecting your complexion with the right skincare makes a little foundation go a long way. Same goes for concealing. Once all the flaws are erased, your eyes will automatically stand out or "pop"…with nothing to distract the attention they deserve.
|
Face: The Beach Bronzed look -- day to night
My favorite bare body skin shimmer. Dust the Magic Bronzing Brush lightly over bare shoulders, arms, legs and neck. Mix body lotion in hands and rub into the skin. Click twice and swirl the brush into your favorite powder blush. This takes you safe matte daytime shade of Blush Subtil into a pop of dewiness, intensified for nighttime.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Face: Extra moisture for Dry Skin
For a very dry skin, when applying Bienfait Multivital use Foundation Brush #2 and mix with Bienfait Multivital moisturizer depending on how dry your skin is.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.
|
Face: Perk up with Blush Subtil
A great way to wear Blush Subtil is to apply two colors with brush #7 -- one neutral shade to contour and another color for the cheeks to compliment your lip color.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Face: Give skin the appearance color is coming from within
Layer blush between foundation and powder to give skin the appearance color is coming from within.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.

-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.

-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Lips: Show off your perfect smile
Use a very warm washcloth and exfoliant such as Exfoliance Confort to slough away dead lip skin. This also naturally plumps the lips. Want to make your teeth look brighter and whiter? Wear a blue-toned red lipstick (Like Color Design lipstick in Curtain Call) and those pearly whites will shine.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Lips: For full lips without lipcolor
I like to pair a Juicy Tubes shade such as Dreamsicle with a very soft lip liner such as Le Lipstique in Charme all over the lips. It will create a soft, modern, long-lasting look.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Lips: How to wear bright pink
My tip for bright pink lips is to mute the natural lipcolor with Maquicomplet Correcteur concealer using Concealer Brush #8 before applying Le Rouge Absolu lipstick in colors such as Champagne or Satin Fuchsia. This will ensure the lipstick has not only staying power, but also will remain true to its color.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Lips: How to wear Color Fever Shine?
Sketch the lip liner beginning from the outer corner working in. Lift the lip with your opposite finger to expose the natural lip line while enhancing the shape. Barely apply pressure to the pencil and you will see the fullness of the lip enhanced – not the liner.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Lips: You can wear any color
Use Lip Brush # 9 using a neutral or clear Juicy Tube Jelly such as Pure starting in the center of the lip spreading outward. This will make the lip appear plumper by catching the light.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Lips: All-day lipcolor
To get a pop of color that stays on all day, without the heavy feel of a lipcolor, try this: After lining the lips with Le Crayon, blend with Retractable Lip Brush #9 to soften any harsh edges. This will achieve a soft "stain" when using bolder colors such as Berry and Garnet.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Lips: Out of concealer?
If you have dark circles around the eyes but no concealer, try this tip: Use a pale pink lip liner such as Le Lipstique in Fraichelle or Charme for light skin and a deeper pink or coral such as Le Lipstique in Sundried Berry or Spiced Apple for darker skin. Apply a little under eyes and smudge. The pink will help to cancel out the darkness.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Lips: For the perfect amount of gloss
Hold the unique Color Fever Gloss applicator angled downward onto lips. The opening of the applicator deposits the product onto the fullest part of the lips. Use the tip to perfect the shape of the lip and distribute the color evenly.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.
|
Lips: The key to applying lipcolor

For a nude lip effect, use Caramel Le Crayon to outline the lips. Then apply Color Design lipstick in shades such as Natural Beauty or B-List. Finish by filling in the outer corners of the mouth with the Caramel Le Crayon.
-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Lips: The key to applying lipcolor
Placement of your hand is the key to Color Fever Gloss application. Anchor your pinky on your chin using the opening of the heart shaped applicator to evenly apply gloss. Begin in the center of the lip and work out to avoid excess product moving into fine lines. Use the tip to contour the lips and add fullness.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Lips: Don't skip the gloss
Lip gloss is great for all lips. Don't have time to reapply your lipcolor? Just add a dab of Juicy Tube Jelly in Miracle to bring back the vibrance and color.
-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Lips: How to avoid the "liner effect"
Sketch lip liner starting at the outer corners of the mouth, working toward the center. To enhance a thinner lip, brush on liner with Retractable Lip Brush #9 while lifting the lip with a finger of the opposite hand.Finish with Le Rouge Absolu in the color of your choice.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.

-Ricardo Costales National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S.
|
Lips: How to plump lips for a more full, sensuous look
Some of us have very thin, flat lips with no definition. This may be due to genetics, aging or smoking. Tissue degrades as we age and definition is lost over the years. Color Fever Plumper will help plump lips for a more full, sensuous look.
-Ricardo Costales National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S.

Use the spade shaped applicator to shape and contour the rounded cupid’s bow on the upper lip, and blend towards the outer corners of the mouth.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast

-Manuel Villegas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Line smoother for eyes
To smooth out any lines and get a neutral looking eyelid, use Camouflage Brush #8 and mix Ombre Perfecteur with Color Design Eyecolor in Waif or Positive.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Great lash prep
Give your lashes the care they need. Cills Booster XL is a vitamin-enriched cream base that covers and protects the hairs of the lash, like you protect your hair. And with the tiny micro fiber, it really helps mascara to adhere and gives the result of full and fluffy lashes. Plus, it prevents the lashes from drying out and makes mascara removal a breeze.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.
|
Eyes: For separation and length
To get perfect seperation of the lashes and intense lenghth, rub the wand from side to side, then up and out as you comb through the lashes.
-Ricardo Costales National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S.
|
Eyes: Dark circle fix
Mix Aquatique with eye cream and use as concealer for the darkest of eyes. Choose a complementary shade of Maquicomplet and blend the two for a true match.
-Ricardo Costales National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S.
|
Eyes: Wand tip
For the most even application, always apply Hypnôse Mascara with the wand parallel to the floor. For a more intense effect, apply Artliner in Noir or Brown very thinly toward the outer corner. Finish with an upward movement at the end of the eye.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Eyes: Looking tired? Just add eyeliner!
To get the bright-eyed look, start by lining the innermost lower lid with Le Crayon Khôl in Blanc and add a bit more to the inside corner of the upper lid. It's an instant brightener! Also for fuller lashes, line the inner corner of the upper lid with black eyeliner.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Natural-looking lash lenghth
Always wiggle the brush at the root of the lashes while combing through. For a fairer, more blonde lash: I like to go back and roll the brush on top of the lashes while dragging through the lashes. This coats the entire lash, rather than just the tips.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: To thicken lashline
For the look of a thicker lashline, use Waterproof Le Crayon Eyeliner in Noir or Café underneath the lashline to fill in between the lashes. Follow with Hypnôse Mascara to add up to six times the volume for a dramatic lash.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Going to extremes
For an extreme eye, go for extreme lenghth and color. Define the eye with silver hues such as Color Design in Style Section or Optic. Intensify with Artliner in Noir or Ice Black and finish by adding L'Extrême Mascara in Black.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Pro mascara tips
Build and layer the regular mascara end of Cils Design Pro as you would normally apply. Then use the mini brush and ‘tap’ the combs at the root of the outer lashes to sculpt into a winged, false outer lash. Be sure to allow the teeth to grab onto the lash before combing.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Curved brush tip
Place the curved Fatale brush at the root of the lashes and move the wand side to side before combing through to the end. Big tip: Apply mascara to the lower lashes first. This will keep the top lashes from transferring mascara to the brow bone.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Flyaway eyebrows?
Keep eyebrow hairs in place. Apply Modèle Sourcils with the tip to create a natural effect. These brow gels come in 4 shades, create depth and cover any gray.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Fatale tip
Apply this Mascara by placing the wand at the root of the lashes, then sweeping through with the teeth of the 3-D comb upward and outward. Between each tooth of the comb, there is a reservoir of product. So there's no need to “dip” wand more than once. For an ultra-volume effect, comb through again to add a new layer the mascara.
-Ricardo Costales National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S.
|
Eyes: How to apply Ôscillation
The great thing about Ôscillation is that it does all the work. No need to “wiggle” the brush side-to-side or rotate the wand. Comb straight through and the vibrating wand will deposit mascara smoothly around the entire lash.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Eyes: An eyebrow pencil with the wear of a powder
Feather Le Crayon Poudre to fill the eyebrow, following the direction of the hair to create a natural eyebrow. This product is loved by women worldwide. It goes on like a pencil, but it wears like a powder.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast

Allow your mascara to dry before applying.
Layer Silver over black to harmonize with the eye shadow combination being applied
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|

Place the rounded edge of the Virtuôse brush facing downward when applying. The angled tip of the brush will help lift and curve the lashes at the inner and outer corners.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Eyes: A simple line of color
To make the eye the focus, choose a bright shade of Color Design that will enhance your natural eye color. For instance, if your eyes are green try Color Design in Trendy or Drama. Use Dual End Liner & Shadow Brush #18 to line top and lower lash lines. For even more drama, wet the brush before applying the color.
-Ricardo Costales National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S.
|
Eyes: No more fear of liquid liner
Be brave! Before you use Artliner, start by depositing excess product onto the back of the hand. Then line into the roots of the lash with small strokes. End by extending the line slightly outward and upward beyond the lash line.
-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Eyes: How to apply Ôscillation
This is the best mascara ever for converting your day makeup into night makeup. Before going out in the evening, apply two more coats of Ôscillation. Your lashes will look longer, fuller, and the formula won’t chip!
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Perfect line -- no sharpening
Can't ever find your sharpener? Le Stylo is the perfect lining pencil -- clean, mechanical, accurate. Apply directly to lash line and smudge for more intensity. For a less intense look, use Brush # 14 and pick up the color from the pencil onto the end of the brush, then wiggle the brush through your lash line.
-Darais National Artist, West Coast
|
Eyes: Fatale Brillant Tip
Pull the comb through allowing Fatale Brilliant to dry in between layers. There is more dry down needed than with normal mascara. Layer the tips of the lashes for extra sparkle.
-Tarek Abbas National Makeup Artist, Northeast
|
Eyes: Resistance tip
Lift the lid from the crease, exposing the whites of the eye. This allows the wand to grab each lash with more resistance at the root and coat the lashes thoroughly as you comb the wand through.
-Robert Cook National Makeup Artist, South Central U.S.
|
Eyes: For lasting eye shadow
Apply Aquatique with the Dual End Shadow Brush #18 over the whole lid before eye shadow application. This will make the eye shadow color last longer and stay vibrant.

Using Precision Eyeliner Brush #14, apply Color Design eyecolor in The New Black to the upper and lower lash line. Then apply Hypnôse Volumizing Mascara from the base of the lash upward and finish with L'Extrême Lengthening Mascara as a top coat.
-Alex Sanchez National Makeup Artist, North Central U.S.

Eyes: Emergency brow help
Are your brows out of place? Take your Définicils Waterproof Mascara and wipe down the wand slightly. Then you can use it as a brow filler. Brown Mascara is great for blondes and brunettes while black is great for darker hair colors.

Eyes: Natural-looking lashes
For a cleaner, more natural look, apply Hypnôse Waterproof to the top lashes only -- not the bottom lashes. This opens the eye for day. Then for evening, you can add color to the lower lashes.

Eyes: Wand tip
For the most even application, always apply Hypnôse Mascara with the wand parallel to the floor. For a more intense effect, apply Artliner in Noir or Brown very thinly toward the outer corner. Finish with an upward movement at the end of the eye.

Eyes: Save your shadow
To make sure eyeshadow isn't removed when you apply mascara, use the tip of your thumb only to lift your lid at the crease. Gently bend your thumb to keep it comfortable as you apply mascara.

Eyes: For natural-looking lashes
When mascara is feeling clumpy or heavy on the eye, slightly tissue off the wand of your Cils Booster XL and then comb through the lashes to give a lighter, more natural affect.

Eyes: Modèle Sourcils to finish
Choose two compatible colors of Le Crayon Poudre -- one lighter and one darker. Start with the lighter pencil, then blend the darker shade over it with the Angled Brow Brush. this creates a beautifully natural effect.

Eyes: To avoid mascara clumping
The first priority is to make sure that you have thoroughly clean lashes. I love starting off with a lash conditioner first, then I follow up with a light but thorough comb-through of Définicils to both the top and bottom lashes. Then I go back and pull through from the roots of the lashes. This gives the eye to have depth and definition, and it's a great trick for the new look of just shadow and lash color.

Eyes: Instant intensity with Le Crayon Khôl
This is a product you shouldn't try to live without. It's so versatile that you can create a smoky, smudgy line to define the lashline, then use it all over the eyelid for great color. Finally, layer on Color Design Eye Shadow for an intensely dramatic eye.

Eyes: Bright eyes!
Apply wash of Color Design in a circular motion over the eyelid and onto the under-eye are, using Large Shadow Brush #11. Instantly lighten and brighten any eye shadow: stroke Le Crayon Khôl Blanc over the lid to create a light base, then blend any shadow over it. Get smouldering color with the same method but use Le Crayon Khôl Noir as the eye shadow base.

Eyes: The precise, error-proof line
For easiest application, try a coat of Cils Design Pro Mascara first. Hold Artliner to the side and rest the tip against the base of your lashes. Slowly pull it from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye, and make sure to fill in the white spaces.

The Natural shade is my favorite because once you define the brow with Le Crayon Poudre, you can set the brows by brushing Modèle Sourcils in an upward motion. Brows stay perfect all day!
